The Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own. In a social media post, the department says 40 year-old Alexandra Uichita was fighting a wildfire in Annapolis County when he suffered a sudden medical episode. Despite lifesaving efforts by his colleagues he could not be revived. Alex joined the department in 2024. Premier Tim Houston has expressed his condolences to Alex’s family, loved ones, fellow firefighters and the entire community, calling his death a tragic and devastating loss for the province.
