The remains of a newborn infant have been found in Halifax. Police say the remains were found Sunday afternoon after two days of searching. Two people face charges. Police say they were notified just before 10:00 Friday night about a woman who was in hospital in life-threatening condition. She appeared to have just given birth. She remains in hospital in critical condition. The remains of the infant were found off Prospect Road where information led police in their investigation. 23-year-old Sukhpreet Singh, who police say is a relative of the woman, and his 26-year-old wife Ramandeep Kaur, face charges of concealing the body of a child, obstruction, and indignity to a dead body. They have a court appearance on Monday. The province's Medical Officer will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
