Trade Barriers

Prime Minister Mark Carney is vowing to eliminate interprovincial trade barriers by Canada Day. He made the promise on Friday during his first media conference.  The premiers of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario have already signed memoranda of agreements that goods, services or registered workers that are recognized in one province are acceptable in the other. Since U.S. President Donald Trump first began threatening tariffs, provincial leaders and the federal government have been trying to dismantle the interprovincial trade rules to improve the flow of goods between provinces.
