A reminder that a test of the national Alert Ready system is taking place at approximately 1:55 this afternoon. The test will be broadcast on TV, radio and mobile devices. Alert Ready is Canada’s emergency alerting system. The system delivers critical alerts to Canadians through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible cellphones. The system is tested twice a year. During a real emergency, alerts are issued to a targeted geographic area so that only people in the affected area receive the alert.
