Premier Tim Houston has called out U.S. President Donald Trump over his threats to impose tariffs on Canada over wildfire smoke. In a video posted to Facebook, Houston says, “Real friends don’t threaten you when you are in trouble. They step up and help.” Houston went on to say that at this point we should not be surprised by Trump's behaviour. On Tuesday, Trump clarified that his administration is exploring possible separate tariffs for the wildfire smoke after announcing that a 50 per cent levy would be imposed on a number of Canadian goods within 30 days.
