Nova Scotia had the largest gain in inflation last month at 4.7 per cent across Canada. Statistics Canada says that is largely because of higher prices for travellers' accommodation. Canada’s inflation rate sits at 2.8 percent, down from 3.2 percent in June. The national drop is attributed to slowing grocery price increases, but higher pump prices have most economists expecting this month’s inflation rate to edge higher.
