Nova Scotia Power Ransomware Attack

Nova Scotia Power is warning customers that data stolen during a cybersecurity incident is now being published. The utility confirms today it was the victim of what it calls a “sophisticated” ransomware attack. Nova Scotia Power apologized for the breach in a statement on Friday and says they are continuing to work with law enforcement and cybersecurity experts to find out the nature and scope of the information that was stolen. There has been no payment made to the hackers under the advice of law enforcement. The company also reissued a warning to be cautious of any unsolicited texts, emails, phone numbers or websites that appear to come from the utility that ask for any personal information.
