The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is one of a dozen recipients of provincial funding for its regional emergency management organization (REMO). The province is providing more than $800,000 to the organizations to help communities better prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. District Mayor Elspeth McLean-Wile says as the province continues to see more frequent and complex emergencies, investing in preparedness has never been more important. “We’re grateful for the Province’s support and for the strong partnerships that help keep our communities safe.” The money will be used for enhanced training, equipment and regional co-ordination.
