King and Maple Street Closed for Up to 24 Hours Due to Fire

The structure fire on King Street remains active and is currently contained to two residential buildings. Fire crews are continuing suppression efforts and are applying water to a nearby third building to prevent the fire from spreading further.

The Bridgewater Fire Department, along with multiple mutual aid partners, remains on scene. Bridgewater Police Service is also assisting with traffic control and public safety.

At this time, no injuries or fatalities have been reported. However, one resident remains unaccounted for.

For public safety, the following road closures are expected to remain in effect for at least 24 hours:

  • King Street from Dufferin Street to Crescent Street
  • Maple Street from King Street to Prince Street

Transit service will continue to detour until King Street reopens.
