Premier Tim Houston has shuffled his cabinet. He has removed himself as the province’s energy minister and has given the role to Marco McLeod, who was the ministerial assistant to the premier for the seven months Houston held the post. Lunenburg MLA Susan Corkum-Greek has landed the role as minister of opportunities and social development after working as a ministerial assistant in the same department. She takes over the post from Barbara Adams, who remains as deputy premier and minister of seniors and long-term care and military relations. The Liberals call the cabinet shuffle political optics, saying, “Nova Scotians want action on the issues affecting their daily lives. The challenges people were facing before today’s shuffle remain exactly the same afterward.”
