Census enumerators hired to make sure forms are filled out

If you still haven’t filled out the 2026 census, you will likely hear from Statistics Canada. The agency says thousands of census enumerators have been hired to call or visit in-person households that haven’t filled out the mandatory census form. The visits are aimed at reminding residents to fill out the form and to provide help to anyone who is having trouble accessing it.  Any resident who doesn’t complete the survey is subject to a $500 fine. The information disclosed on the form is used to form government decisions on programming, services and infrastructure.
