National parks saw a jump in visitors this summer, thanks in part to the Canada Strong Pass, with the largest increase in Atlantic and Northern Canada. Parks Canada says all sites saw a 13 per cent increase or more than 14.5 million people visited between late June and early September. The Canada Strong Pass offered free entry for families and half-price discounts for young travellers on VIA Rail. The federal government will offer the passes over the holidays as well as next summer.
