The union representing Canada Post workers says it is taking its time to review a new contract offer from the crown corporation. Canada Post has sent an offer that includes a 13 per cent wage increase over four years. The union is asking for a 19 per cent wage bump. Canada Post rejected a request by the union for a two-week extension to consider the new offer, saying a further delay is in no one’s interest. 55,000 Canada Post workers could walk off the job on Friday morning if a deal is not reached, marking the second strike by mail carriers in almost six months.
