CKTR-FM will be the only independent media source in Truro

We shall strive to serve the news and information needs of our audience. The news staff shall gather, report, and present a total of 30 scheduled newscasts per week during the Monday to Friday morning show and 10 scheduled newscasts per week during the Monday to Friday afternoon show. The emphasis shall focus on local news that is important to our audience. Newscasts shall be presented every half hour between 6 am, up to an including 8:30 am, and again at 4:00 pm and 5 pm, scheduled Monday through Friday. While we may not have weekend news at the launch of 107.1 CKTR-FM, we do hope to provide scheduled news coverage after our first year of operation. We will, in urgent breaking news situations have the ability to break format and broadcast any news.

We shall also present 40 scheduled sportscasts per week, during the AM/PM drive shows, Monday through Friday. 

We will broadcast up to date weather and road conditions. 107.1 CKTR-FM is committed to providing surveillance information, 105 times per week, Monday through Friday, and another 30 times weekends.
